Our commitments

INSPIRE FOR CHANGE

Our first commitment is to inspire our community. students, graduates, staff members… our mission is to make them aware of the main societies, to impart the principles, to generate new ideas and to encourage action

OUR OUTREACH

Disability awareness days, gender awareness activities, diversity… We educate our students on societal issues to encourage them to become agents of change.

BSB EQUALITY
In 2018, we launched the BSB EQUALITY project to encourage the school’s employees and our students — future managers — to promote diversity in organisations. Conferences, roundtables and creative projects are set up every year to change how people think.

_______

Baromètre de la Diversité” – Diversity Barometer
Our school is also part of the Diversity Barometer initiative, a measurement tool designed to promote equality between women and men on the boards of large companies.

Published annually since 2014, this report:
• Provides annual data on the presence of women on boards of directors, their profiles (age, training, function, employer), their actual positions on the board (committees, members or chairs).
• Identifies the focus of the target companies on the law in relation to the research profiles of women directors (training, experience, activity sector, human and behavioural qualities…) in the face of their strategic development and performance.
• Provides a forum for the target companies to raise questions and concerns on the implementation of this law to the public authorities and institutions.
• The Professional Equality Index for 2020 is 78 points out of 100 with the maximum number of points for two out of four themes in terms of gender equality.

OUR INSPIRING LECTURES AND TALKS

Through our “Meet-Up Inspiring Leaders” conferences and our webseries “La Rencontre Lead For Change”, we enable our students to meet change actors every month. They share with them their perspectives of a changing world and witness how they try to shake up codes with agility through new sustainable business models.

EDUCATE FOR CHANGE

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AT THE HEART OF OUR EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

Societal responsibility is at the heart of our educational project. This is why all our programmes include modules linked to societal responsibility so that our students understand the articulation between ethics and management and make the link with other fundamental concepts such as trust and social responsibility for a company. Our programmes enable all students to build their own managerial practices by incorporating these principles.
More than 40% of our course modules integrate the concepts of societal responsibility.

Some examples of course modules:
• Ethics and social responsibility
• Corporate governance
• Micro finance
• Management of responsible organizations
• Corporate strategy & sustainability
• Managing change

A DO AND LEARN APPROACH

To speed up the integration of societal and environmental responsibility issues, our student experience is marked by waves of immersive challenges.

INNOVATION SPRINT

As soon as school starts, we immerse our new students in a responsible innovation challenge: Innovation Sprint. For 3 days, helped by professors, coaches and facilitators, they must respond as a team to the CSR challenges of 3 renowned companies (Véolia, Mondelez International and Club Med Jobs for the start of the 2019 school year).

In line with the 17 sustainable development objectives of the UN, this challenge mixes design thinking methodology and academic research.

GREENHACKDAYS

A student competition aimed at creating sustainable business models that put economic, social and environmental values at the heart of innovation.

DEEP DIVE

Launched in January 2020, this active learning module developed by BSB encourages our students to question themselves on the societal & environmental impact of Artificial Intelligence and to integrate the principles of Augmented, Ethical & Responsible Intelligence. It is based on the International Inter-University Challenge : The Trail, by Vinci Construction, where participants have to think about innovative & sustainable solutions, integrating Artificial Intelligence, to imagine the cities of tomorrow. Coached by 10 tutors, our students must demonstrate creativity and critical analysis.

ACT FOR CHANGE

Encouraging diversity, fighting against inequality, developping good environmental practices, promoting mutual aid… BSB encourages its employees, students and graduates to take action by carrying projects with a positive impact.

BSB POSITIVE IMPACT: IT’S UP TO US

Solidarity actions, Ecorun, humanitarian mission, charity race, blood collection… in the context of a student club or as an individual initiative, our graduates and employees can demonstrate their commitment by carrying out solidarity projects that make sense within the school and with their peers.

MY MISSION LEAD FOR CHANGE

To allow you to become an actor of change is to allow you to act. To be a responsible manager is to be aware of others.

This is purpose behind My Mission Lead for Change, initiated by BSB almost 15 years ago. This module supports the solidarity actions of civil society by exposing students to the realities of the society in which they live.

This mission encourages each pre-Masters student to invest 40 hours engaging in a social and/or humanitarian mission with local and national associations such as the Restos du Coeur, Le Secours Catholique, the association for helping refugees Wintegreat…

GREEN CAMPUS

Recycling, butt-collecting, setting up ecocup and eco bottle, daily awareness of energy saving and eco gestures… we work every day alongside our students for a more responsible campus.

“LE GRAND DEJ’ SOLIDAIRE”

Once a year the coaching staff and teachers prepare small dishes for the students. The proceeds go to the Hum’Event Association as part of of the school’s solidarity food store.

APERO2TOGETHER

Our graduates are also committed to our good works. Every October BSB organises a solidarity meeting with the graduates. The aim is to gather all over France and around the world and post a photo online, paying 1€ per photo.
In 2018, the Apero2gether collection was donated to UNICEF.

In 2019, the collection was for the benefit of the Surfrider Foundation.

HANDICAP MISSION

Created in 2009, the BSB Handicap Mission aims to encourage students with disabilities to pursue their studies in higher education. Our Personal Development and Support service supports them in their academic and personal journey (such as support in taking exams, making adapted equipment available, etc.)

Every year, as part of National Handicap Week and in partnership with the Caisse d’Epargne de Bourgogne Franche Comte, our students also organise awareness workshops in which the whole school can participate.

BSB STUDENT CLUBS CHANGE THE WORLD

Be curious, passionate, open to the world, open up to others, push the boundaries, get out of the box and above all give meaning to your actions. That’s what it means to be a game changer, an actor of change!

At BSB we encourage our students to take action during their studies, and the opportunities are numerous. Our students have the opportunity to invest in the community life of the school by carrying out projects with meaning.
At BSB, 4 student clubs are dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility:

HUM’EVENTS
Humanitarian School Student Club

OWL FOR YOU
Management of solidarity groceries for students in difficulty and organization of solidarity collections (clothing, food, etc.)

ESC’PRIT D’AVENTURE

MELTING POTES

As well as the 4 previous dedicated student clubs, all BSB student clubs are committed to responsible projects.

The list is long… but here are some committed community projects:
• Disability Awareness Day- BDS

OUR RESPONSIBLE PARTNERSHIPS

WINTEGREAT

BSB is a partner of the Wintegreat association, which has the mission of allowing refugees to bounce back and resume an active position in their host society through a springboard programme.

For three months from January to March, BSB welcomes 20 refugees. They take courses, volunteered by our teachers, which will allow them to relaunch their professional life in our country.
45 BSB students are also invested in this project, as coaches and buddys, as part of their citizen engagement module “My Lead for Change Mission”.
Our graduates also participate in this project as a coach to help these people “re-define” their professional career.

FESTIVAL VYV SOLIDARITY

BSB supports the VYV music festival under the banner of solidarity: the fight against discrimination, improved living condition, eco-responsibility, etc.

AS PART OF THE “MY LEAD FOR CHANGE PROJECT”,
BSB IS A PARTNER OF 50 LOCAL NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATIONS
